Without the ideal activation material, tuning forks can’t sound their best. Struck on hard surfaces, the forks can produce a sharp, piercing, even frenzied tone. Whereas on too soft a surface, the vibration and tone are dull and can’t ring for the full potential duration. For these reasons, the hard rubber of a hockey puck is an ideal material.
The perfect activation technique takes practice! Just because you have the perfect activation tool does not mean you will automatically get amazing sounds from our handmade forks.
